Solar power systems turn sunlight into electricity. Silicon wafers capture photons from sunlight and turn them into DC power, which is then transformed into 120 volt AC power and connected to your existing electrical system as well as the local electrical grid. Your meter can literally spin backwards when you generate more than you consume.

Solar Development Technologies offers a free on-site Solar Evaluation to provide customized information regarding energy generation for your home.

We can give you a tailor-made system that will allow you to pay nothing for Electricity.

Solar Panels are hooked to an inverter transferring the current from DC to AC which can work in conjunction with your existing utility. It your Solar panels produce too much power for your residential needs, The excess will travel backwards to the grid in a process called net metering.

Typical Components of a Solar System

Solar Cells: “Solar power cells” make up the building blocks of a solar energy system. These solar power (photovoltaic) cells convert light energy into electricity at the atomic level.

Solar Module:

Inverter: An “inverter”, usually installed on the outside of your home, takes the DC output from the cells and transforms it into usable AC power.

Electric Panel: Electricity will be sent from the inverter to your “electric panel” (or “breaker box”). Your meter will spin backward when your solar system produces more electricity than you need and will spin forward at night or on cloudy days.

Utility Grid: The “utility grid” refers to the electricity going to/from your electric provider. When you go solar, you will send back to the grid the electricity that you produce in excess of your consumption, and use grid electricity at night or on cloudy days.

Solar Pumping Kits

Our signature product, the UE 60 Cell, is our most versatile module. While compact enough to fit on residential and commercial roofs, it is still economical enough to meet the needs of larger, utility-scale projects.

The UE 60 Cell Series is now available with highly durable CleanARC® anti-reflective coating. Click here to learn more. Recommended for harsh environmental conditions, CleanARC® coating maximizes performance and reduces soiling, which can increase your project’s return on investment.

Solar Air Conditioners

$875.00USD
Absorption chiller air conditioners are not a newly developed technology. In fact, they have been commercially used in the U.S. since the early 20th century and are widely used today in the northeast. Absorption chiller AC units are also very popular in Asian countries like Japan, where the high cost of electricity make them very desirable. Chillers constitute up to 40% of all installed commercial air conditioning tonnage. They are simple and dependable, using no harmful CFC (Freon, etc.) and some units actually operate without any moving parts.

When engineered to run on solar energy the absorption chiller AC systems provide a low cost to operate and a great return on investment compared to even the highest efficiency conventional air conditioning systems.

Solar absorption chillers are very low in operating and maintenance costs, and consume little or no electrical energy. The only parts that use any electricity are low amp fan motors, control boards, and small pumps that move the thermal transfer fluid from the collectors to the chiller and then back up to the collectors. Inside the unit is another small pump that circulates the refrigerant. There is no “compressor” to consume power. All of these small electrical loads can run from a small solar PV panel setup if desired, meaning zero energy costs for the solar air conditioning system.

With continually rising energy costs, solar air conditioning has become an increasingly attractive option for cooling and heating applications. Air conditioning is one of the most expensive operating costs that a business faces today. Absorption chillers are efficient, reliable, low maintenance – and even better, able to be powered using only the sun. Solar cooling has the direct ability to drastically lower your energy and operating costs.
